Most of the Merge Network of keluar sgp poker sites have been open to US players for some time, but with the exception of Carbon Poker – one of the largest poker sites at Merge. Earlier this year, Carbon announced a temporary leave from the American market to address customer service and cash out problems. To the delight of many players in the US, Carbon has just announced their return. Carbon will be again open to the American market at the end of August.
After Black Friday, thousands of poker players from Full Tilt Poker, the Cereus Network, and PokerStars flocked to other poker sites, including many of Merge’s properties. Though any businessman will tell you an influx of customers is beneficial, there can be a breaking point. Carbon experienced this, and found their systems overloaded and unable to handle the number of new players. As a result, they temporarily withdrew to strengthen their business to better service players in a move showing commitment to their current base, and to proper customer service of their newer customers.
The concerns initially felt by Carbon have been addressed, with the advent of their return. The return of Carbon is a welcome announcement, especially as Bodog Poker will be exiting the American scene at the end of 2011 to refocus on their global operations. Players may take notice of Carbon Poker’s offerings, which Carbon claims can generate as much as a 47% rakeback. Though far from the size of a site like PokerStars, Carbon does boast north of $50k in weekly tournament guarantees.
Carbon Poker will reenter the American market between August 20 and 31.
Bodog King of the Felt Crown up for Grabs
Bodog Poker is offering the chance for their users to join the ranks of poker royalty. Thanks to their upcoming King of the Felt promotion, two players each will compete each week for the prestigious King of the Felt crown.
Lining up for this particular honor is quite simple. All one must do is cash in a minimum of three qualifying sit and go’s, which will earn a ticket in the weekly drawing. At the end of the week, Bodog will select one lucky qualifier, who will then be pitted against the previous week’s King of the Felt in a heads-up match.
The winner of this battle royale will win $1,000 in free cash, plus the right to challenge the next week’s heir tot he throne. But who’s to say that the incumbent can’t stick around for a while? The longer the king defends their crown, the better their chance at receiving additional prizes. After a five week streak, the reward kicks up to $2,500. After another five, ten-week winners will earn a shot at earning a seat to the 2011 World Series of Poker.
As mentioned before, all a player must do is earn three cashes in qualifying sit and go tournaments. For each set of three that a user completes, another ticket will be thrown into the hat. Essentially, it’s a raffle, giving the winner of the most sit and go’s the highest statistical chance of winning a joust with the King.
There are even further incentives available to aspiring participants. By earning two tickets toward their King of the Felt bid, players will also receive entry into a $1,000 Freeroll tournament. Players with three or more tickets will earn this same $1K shot, plus an additional invite to a $500 freeroll.
Certain types of sit and go’s, however, will not count toward a player’s ticket totals. Heads up, Beginner, and Double Up Tournaments are each excluded from the running..
